Reaching ‘Total Health’: Laying the Foundations
When it comes to our health, there are certain stages to becoming ‘healthy’ and allowing our body to thrive. With so many different systems and sections to our body, we can’t just expect to eat a few grapes and resolve all our issues. Just like a house, the foundations need to be laid first and starting with the walls or anything else would eventually lead to problems and even a collapse.
Within the body, chiropractic care should be seen as the foundation for many reasons. Most importantly, it addresses the root cause of many injuries and other health issues. Without first addressing the foundations, you’ll have nothing to build upon and you won’t be able to reach peak physical condition. If you choose chiropractic care, there are three stages to keep in mind;
Stage 1: Relief Care
In the first stage, the main aim will be to limit and reduce any pain you’re experiencing currently. After visiting Quantum Medical and Wellness Center, we’ll assess your health and you can tell us of any aches and pains you’ve been feeling. From here, we can get to work on the underlying issues and the time we stay in stage one depends on the severity of the issues. Often, we recommend two or three adjustments per week for between one and three months.
Stage 2: Corrective/Restorative
Once the pain has been reduced, we can work on correcting the muscles and tissues to promote healing. At this stage, the aim is to reach 100% functioning within your body and this should prevent the same pains from recurring in the future. For the most part, we recommend between four and eight sessions per month for anywhere from six months to two years (depending on the case). If your problem isn't too severe, there’s no reason why it can’t be done in six months. If your health has deteriorated significantly, it might take longer.
Stage 3: Wellness Care
At this point, the pain has been relieved, the underlying issue has been corrected, and you can feel confident moving forward. All things considered, the pain should have disappeared and the focus is now on keeping the pain away. If you leave chiropractic care at this stage, there’s a risk of the pain returning and this means we have to start from stage one again in the near future.
With small chiropractic adjustments between one and four times per month (depending on your goals and lifestyle), we can keep you in the best position without worrying the issue will return!
